All That Matters is a wellbeing and legacy-focused mobile app that encourages people to live more thoughtfully. The app provides a secure and intuitive space for users to capture memories, write messages, and curate their life stories — all while building a digital legacy for the future.

Created for busy parents and individuals who value emotional connection, the app blends practical memory organisation with wellbeing principles. It brings peace of mind, helping users feel confident that their memories, values, and love will be remembered and passed on.

Research Results

Early research helped us surface real pain points and refine our understanding of the people we were truly designing for.

Users want to record their memories but don’t know how to start, feel intimidated by a blank page, or don’t know what to write.

The content is deeply personal, emotional, and private — it cannot be treated like a cold or purely functional tool.

The content may contain extremely private information (meant for children or family) and must feel safe, secure, and trustworthy.

Automatically generates personalized Digital Memory Books (PDF or printed) to preserve memories as lasting emotional gifts, a bridge to monetization without harming sincerity.

Shifted from a tool-based model to an “emotional legacy product,” enabling sustainable revenue through memory book printing, premium prompts, and gifting community.

We designed the visual system to feel like “writing in a book,” using vibrant colors, playful elements, and tactile layouts that make the experience more personal and emotionally engaging.

We designed a space where writing feels effortless and joyful. Users can quickly note a moment, assign it to someone they love, and see their stories beautifully organised. With intuitive categories and easy search, capturing life’s little sparks becomes natural — a way to preserve what truly matters without pressure.

Prompt-based System

What makes All That Matters unique is how it gently guides users to tell their stories. Instead of staring at a blank page, they’re inspired by thoughtful questions that help capture memories and values with ease. Even for those who find writing difficult, these prompts turn reflection into something simple and meaningful — helping them build a life story that can be shared with future generations.

Writing a letter

Beyond capturing memories, users can write heartfelt letters to their loved ones and choose when they’ll be opened. These messages become part of a personal digital legacy — a safe place to store words that might otherwise go unsaid. Privacy and security are at the heart of this feature, ensuring users feel protected and at peace knowing their stories and emotions are handled with care.

Digital Memory Book

Last special part of this app is the digital book — a beautifully designed feature that gathers everything users have written and turns it into a shareable PDF gift. Each book becomes a personal collection of memories, values, and messages for loved ones. In the future, we aim to bring this concept to life as a real printed book — something tangible that people can hold, collect, and treasure across generations.

Summary & takeaways

All That Matters is a project that deeply touched me — one I will never forget. From the moment I learned about its concept of creating a “digital legacy”, I was captivated. After hearing the client’s story and feeling the love she has for her child and family, I knew this project had to deliver something truly unique — something that could capture and reflect that love.


Although the app is centred around writing and reflection, our goal was to make it far more than a simple diary. We carefully crafted every question and interaction to help users record meaningful life moments and preserve them as timeless memories.

Designing a “cool” digital experience that could genuinely bring warmth and joy to people’s lives was both challenging and rewarding. I feel incredibly honoured to have been part of this journey and to help shape a product that I believe can one day become a heartfelt gift to the world.

What's next?

The design may be done, but the job is far from complete. As designers, we care about every step — from start to finish.
